A Magical First Frozen Birthday

Four years ago, I threw my niece's first birthday party. At that time, Frozen was huge, and since her birthday is during the winter, it seemed like a perfect fit. We wanted this party to be as special and creative as we could make it, so after a few weeks of brain storming, ideas started to come to life. Frozen has so many different characters, themes, and scenes, so it was fun to incorporate those throughout the house. When guests entered, they entered through a cardboard box cutout of Elsa's frozen castle.

We made this with cardboard boxes we had leftover from Christmas gifts. We sprayed it with an icy blue spray paint, and blue glitter spray to make it look like ice. We then added snowflake decoration.

Olaf the snowman was a fun decoration to make, and we still have this saved in storage today. We used Styrofoam balls, huge black pom poms, pipe cleaners and construction paper, to create his face, buttons and hands. We glued him to an office box, covered in blue wrapping paper, so we could move him around easily.

We ordered life-size cut outs of some of the main characters and had them displayed throughout the house. We used left over blue and white string lights from the holiday to add a magical snowy glow. Tables were covered with different shades of blue table cloths, and had snow flake confetti from the party store thrown around them.

For party favors, we had a candy station where guests could fill their own treat bags and picture of my niece for families to take home. We were able to make these cute treat bags, with cheap white bags from the party store, a cut out image of Elsa, and some material from the craft store.

For the Candy station, we used a mixture of glass jars that we had around the house, and plastic ones we were able to buy at the party store. We wanted guests to be able to see the different color candies. We kept with the theme of frozen, and had different shades of blues and white for the candies. For the back drop, we used a light blue plastic table cloth, with garland and glittery letters from the craft store. We used a life-size cut out of Elsa to set the scene. The candy table was located by the front door, that away it way guests wouldn't forget their gift bags on their way home.

For our first big birthday party, I think we did really well and we let our imaginations create a magical first frozen birthday party for a special little girl! If you have any questions about the decorations, leave a comment below and I'll be glad to answer them as best as I can!
