For one of my cousin's sweet 16 a few years ago, we wanted to try to save some money by making decorations. Her sweet 16 theme was blue, white, and silver.
Let's start with the center pieces. The center piece my cousin loved, was a big vase with flowers in the center, with two small round vases around it. We ordered all the vases from the craft store, every table had 1 tall round vase, and two small round vases. For the flower vase, we sprayed the bottom half with spray glue, and rolled the glasses in light blue glitter. When they were dry, we sprayed it with an acrylic setting spray, found at the craft store. Right above the glitter, we hot glued strings of silver pearls around the vase. The silver pearl ribbon was found at the craft store as well. For the two small round vases, we wanted something blue, but that would show in the dark when the lights were off. We put bright white LED lights on the bottom of each vase, and filled the vases with blue water beads. This made for a really nice blue in the dark. The lights and water beads were found at the craft store.

For the gift table, we bought a white and black card box from the craft store that my cousin liked, and added some silver trimming to it. Also on the table we sprayed painted wooden numbers to make the blue glitter 16. We sprayed it light blue, then sprayed it with glue spray, and sprinkled glitter all over it. All of these things were available at the craft store.

For her sixteen candles, we made a candle board. We stacked two layers of styrofoam to form levels. We covered each layer in material from the craft store. One layer was a shimmery light blue, and the other one was a shimmery silver. We bought silver candles from the craft store, and bought the Rhine stone ribbon to wrap around the bottom, and glitter silver ribbon to wrap at a diagonal around the candle. She picked a red candle to represent her mom. The candles were then hot glued into holds made in the Styrofoam. Everything we used was found at the craft store.

For party favors, we wanted something that guests could keep. We ordered these candles that you can customize the clear label around it, from Oriental Trading. We bought cute pearly white bags to put them.
The decorations turned out beautiful, and it was a great night for our family and her friends. If you have any questions, leave a comment!
this is a great idea for a sweet sixteen elegant party theme
